Gateway Mixed Use Zone overhaul

The council rewrote the rules for the TV Highway/Fred Meyer area to block new drive-throughs, gas stations and auto-oriented businesses while letting existing ones stay. Cornelius has 37 auto-oriented businesses along the highway — more per mile than comparable cities — and the city wants that corridor to become more walkable and mixed-use instead.
