Hillsboro School District bond measure
The school district is asking voters in November to approve a $430 million capital bond for roofs, HVAC, security, kitchens and more — at a projected rate of $1.84 per $1,000, below the $2.02 average since the last bond. About $43.5 million would benefit Cornelius-area students at Free Orchards, Evergreen and Glencoe.
School district surplus land and school capacity
Hillsboro School District decided it doesn't need all this land for schools and is selling part to a homebuilder, planning an elementary rather than the high school many residents wanted. Testifiers said Glencoe and Evergreen are already overcrowded.
